Abstract

ABSTRACT

Hypertension represents health problem needing better management, since morbidity and high mortality. Hypertension conceived as a silent killer disease because absence of signs and symptoms in early stadium which indicates of disease existence. Hypertension incurable disease instead of control over of blood pressure to lessen generated problem. Since medication of Hypertension for lifetime, family support is important during the time of medication. The cross sectional design used in this research and sample selected iby simple random sampling methods. The sample are 50 mahasiswats hypertension clients who have medical treatment and have regulary control as outpatient of heart of Sutomo Hospital of Surabaya, in which more than one year and live in Surabaya. The data were collected using questionnaire. The result of test obtained the correlation of Spearmen Rank test with p=<0.05. The result showed p=0.003 and r=0.411, it means there is significant relation between the family support and the obedience to do a medical treatment program of hypertension.
