HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN ORANG TUA TENTANG PERAWATAN ANAK AUTIS DENGAN KEMAMPUAN MERAWAT DIRI ANAK AUTIS RELATIONSHIP OF PARENTAL KNOWLEDGE ABOUT AUTISM CARE WITH SELF-CARE ABILITIES OF AUTISTIC CHILDREN

Kemampuan merawat diri bagi anak autis sangat penting untuk membantu anak untuk hidup sendiri tanpa bantuan orang lain. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan orang tua tentang perawatan autis dengan kemampuan anak autis merawat diri di Sekolah Kreatif SD Muhammadiyah 16 Surabaya. Desain penelitian adalah penelitian analitik deskriptif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh orang tua (ayah/ibu) anak autis di Sekolah Kreatif SD Muhammadiyah 16 Surabaya tahun ajaran 2010-2011 sebanyak 22 orang. Teknik sampling penelitian menggunakan simple random sampling dengan besar sampel 20 orang. Variabel bebas penelitian adalah pengetahuan orang tua (ayah/ibu) tentang perawatan autis dan variabel tergantung adalah kemampuan anak autis merawat diri. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Tehnik analisis data menggunakan uji statistik korelasi Spearman Rank. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya hubungan pengetahuan orang tua tentang perawatan anak autis dengan kemampuan merawat diri anak autis di Sekolah Kreatif SD Muhammadiyah 16 Surabaya (rs hitung=0,773>rs tabel=0,447). Pada 15 orang tua yang memiliki pengetahuan baik terdapat 80% kemampuan merawat diri anak autis adalah baik. Pada 4 orang tua yang memiliki pengetahuan cukup hanya terdapat 25% kemampuan merawat diri anak autis yang baik, 50% berkemampuan cukup. Sisanya sebanyak 1 orang tua yang berpengetahuan kurang seluruhnya (100%) kemampuan merawat diri anak autis adalah kurang. Disarankan orang tua untuk mempertahankan dan lebih meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang perawatan autis agar anak mampu hidup sendiri tanpa bantuan orang lain.

The ability of self-care for children with autism is very important to help the child to live alone without the help of others. One of them is affected by the knowledge of parents in caring for children with autism themselves. The study aims to determine the relationship of parental knowledge about autism care with self-care abilities of autistic children in the School of Creative Surabaya Muhammadiyah elementary school 16. The study design was a descriptive analytic study with cross sectional approach. The study population was all parents (father / mother) of children with autism in the School of Creative 16 Surabaya Muhammadiyah elementary school 2010-2011 school year as many as 22 people. Research sampling techniques using simple random sampling with a sample size of 20 people. The independent variables were knowledge of the parents (father / mother) on the treatment of autism and the dependent variable is the ability of autistic children taking care of themselves. Collecting data using a questionnaire. Technical analysis of the data using Spearman Rank Correlation statistical test. The results showed an association of parental knowledge about the treatment of children with autism with self-care abilities of autistic children in the School of Creative SD Muhammadiyah 16 Surabaya (rs = 0.773 count> table rs = 0.447). In the 15 parents who have a good knowledge there is 80% self-care abilities of children with autism are good. At 4 parents who have enough knowledge there is only 25% self-care abilities of children with autism are good, 50% is quite capable. The remaining 1 less knowledgeable parents entirely (100%) self-care abilities of children with autism are less.
