Abstract

Candida Albicans grows as normal microflora in the human body in the gastrointestinal tract,
respiratory, female genital tract, but the amount of control can lead to pathogen infection. Lime fruit
contains essential oils that serve as antifungal. The problem of this study is whether there is the
influence of the concentration variation lemon (Citrus aurantifolia) on the growth of Candida Albicans
?. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the concentration of lime juice (Citrus
aurantifolia) on the growth of Candida Albicans.
This study is experimental with the growth of Candida Albicans dependent variable, independent
variable concentration variation lemon (Citrus aurantifolia). Control variable in this study is the
temperature, growth media, other fungal contamination, the number of colonies of Candida Albicans
treated. This study uses a tube dilution method with a concentration of 100%, 80%, 60%, 40%,
20%. Statistical analysis using One-Way ANOVA with α (0.05) to determine whether there is any
effect of concentration variation lemon (Citrus aurantifolia) on the growth of Candida Albicans and
subsequent Tukey HSD test to see the difference in each treatment concentration.
The results showed that the concentration of lime juice (Citrus aurantifolia) can inhibit the growth of
Candida Albicans and lime juice concentration of 60% is an effective concentration to inhibit the
growth of Candida Albicans seen growth in the number of colonies on media Sabaroud dextrose agar
(SDA).
