HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN TENTANG PERKEMBANGAN SEKS SEKUNDER TERHADAP GAMBARAN DIRI REMAJA PEREMPUAN SMPN 2 WONOAYU SIDOARJO

Abstract

ABSTRACT

Teenager period is a transition time into adolescene where teenagers should prepare themselves to be an adult in every aspect, including the sexual aspect. Teenagers should be concerned more, especially their knowledge about their puberty development and their secondary sexual change. Otherwise, there will be problem aroused. The purpose of this reseach is to analyze the correlation of female teenagers knowledge about secondary sexual development during puberty and  their self-image. This reseach uses correlational method for the analysis. Then, the population of this reseach is all female teenagers students of  SMPN 2 Wonoayu. The sample are taken through probability sampling with random sampling technique. The data collected is  analyzed using chi-square test (x²). The result shows that from 34 mahasiswats (44,7%) who have enough knoledge 23 mahasiswats (30,3%) give negative response on their self-image. Then, from 16 mahasiswats (21%) who have good knowledge, 14 mahasiswats (18,4%) give positive response on their self-image. The statistics test also shows that x_hitung > x_tabel, the conclusion reveals there is a corelation between female teenagers knowledge about secondary sexual development toward their self-image.
