HUBUNGAN PERILAKU MEMELIHARA GIGI DENGAN PENYAKIT PULPA PADA PASIEN DI POLIKLINIK GIGI PUSKESMAS SUNGKAI KALIMANTAN SELATAN

Karies Gigi merupakan salah satu penyebab terjadinya radang pulpa dan periapikal yang paling banyak. Kurang lebih 90% penduduk Indonesia mengalami masalah gigi berlubang. Penyakit tersebut menempati 37% dari semua jenis penyakit gigi dan mulut. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui hubungan perilaku memelihara gigi dengan penyakit pulpa pada pasien di Poliklinik Gigi Puskesmas Sungkai. Jenis penelitian adalah analitik Cross sectional. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh pengunjung Poliklinik Gigi sebanyak 278 orang, sampel penelitian sebanyak 75 orang. Data didapat melalui pemeriksaan langsung dan kuesioner yang dibagikan kepada pasien. Analisis data menggunakan uji chi Square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan perilaku memelihara gigi dengan penyakit pulpa (ρ=0,000<α=0,05).  Perilaku memelihara gigi pasien  di Poliklinik Gigi Puskesmas Sungkai sebagian besar dalam kategori buruk(53,3% dan kategori baik sebanyak 46,7%. Pasien yang berkunjung ke Poliklinik Gigi Puskesmas Sungkai sebagian besar memiliki penyakit pulpa sebanyak 47 orang (62,7%). Penyuluhan pada masyarakat tentang kesehatan gigi dan mulut terutama tentang karies gigi penting dilakukan agar masyarakat termotivasi untuk memeriksakan gigi dan mulutnya sedini mungkin. Sehingga angka penyakit pulpa dapat berkurang.

ABSTRACT

            Dental caries is one of the causes of pulpal and periapical inflammation the most. Approximately 90% of the population of Indonesia are having problems cavities. The disease occupies 37% of all types of dental and oral diseases. The research objective was to determine the relationship of behavior for your teeth with pulpal disease in patients at Community Health Center Dental Clinic Sungkai. This type of research is cross sectional analytic. The study population was all visitors Dental Polyclinic as much as 278 people, the study sample as many as 75 people. Data obtained through direct examination and questionnaire distributed to patients. Data analysis using chi square test. The results showed that there is a relationship of behavior to maintain teeth with pulpal disease (ρ =0.000<α=0.05). Behavior of patients in the clinic for your teeth, Dental Health Center Sungkai mostly in the poor category (53.3% and 46.7% of both categories. Patients who visited the Health Center Dental Clinic Sungkai most have pulpal disease by 47 people (62.7%) . Guidance on the public about oral health, especially about the importance of dental caries done so that people are motivated to check their teeth and mouth as early as possible. So the rate of disease of the pulp can be reduced.
