HUBUNGAN PENDIDIKAN DENGAN PENGETAHUAN IBU TENTANG DEMAM BERDARAH DENGUE PADA ANAK USIA SEKOLAH RELATIONSHIP MOTHER'S EDUCATION WITH KNOWLEDGE OF DENGUE BLOOD FEVER IN CHILDREN OF SCHOOL AGE

Abstract


Penyakit Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) pertama kali di Indonesia ditemukan di Surabaya. Sejak itu jumlah kasus menunjukkan kecenderungan meningkat baik dalam jumlah maupun luas wilayah yang terjangkit. Salah satu penyebab peningkatan kasus adalah kurangnya pengetahuan orang tua tentang penyakit DBD. Tujuan Penelitian adalah mengidentifikasi hubungan pendidikan dengan pengetahuan ibu tentang DBD pada anak usia sekolah di Poli Anak RS Dr. Koesma Tuban. Disain penelitian adalah analitik cross sectional. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh ibu yang anaknya menderita DBD di Poli Anak RS Dr. Koesma Tuban. Besar sampel sebanyak 22 orang yang diambil menggunakan total sampling. Alat pengumpul data adalah kuesioner. Analisis data menggunakan uji Korelasi Spearman Rank . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya korelasi antara Tingkat pendidikan ibu dengan pengetahuan tentang DBD pada anak usia sekolah di Poli Anak RS Dr. Koesma Tuban (ρ=0.834<α=0.01). Disarankan bagi ibu untuk aktif mencari informasi kesehatan melalui media massa, mengikuti seminar, maupun bertanya langsung kepada petugas kesehatan, sehingga dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan upaya pencegahan penyakit DBD

Dengue fever was first discovered in Surabaya in Indonesia, since it also is a tendency to increase the number of cases, both the number and total area affected. the increase was one of them is affected by the lack of parental knowledge of DBD disease. The Research aims to determine the relationship between mother's education level with knowledge of dengue disease in children of school age in Poli Anak DR R.Koesma Hospital Tuban. Correlational research design with method used is a cross sectional approach. the population of mothers of children diagnosed with dengue in its Children's DR R. Koesma Hospital Tuban. Sample size are 22 women using Total sampling techniques. Collection Data is instruments. The results showed more than half (54.5%) mothers did not work, half (50%) high school-educated mothers, and most (68.2%) mothers either knowledgeable about dengue fever in school-age children. Spearman Rank Correlation test results is relationship between maternal education with knowledge about dengue disease in children of school age in Poly Anak DR R Koesma Hospital Tuban (ρ=0.834<α=0.01). Education level and knowledge was instrumental in the establishment of maternal behavior, then the mother is expected to actively seek health information whether it is through the mass media, seminars, or to ask the health workers, thus increasing the knowledge and prevention of dengue disease.
