STUDI KOMPARASI MINUM SUSU HANGAT DAN TEH CHAMOMILE HANGAT TERHADAP PEMENUHAN KEBUTUHAN TIDUR LANSIA (The Comparison Study Between Drinking Warm Milk and Warm Chamomile Tea Towards The Needs of Sleep on Elderly)

Gangguan tidur pada lansia disebabkan oleh perubahan fisiologis. Susu hangat dan teh chamomile hangat mampu mempercepat proses tidur dan mampu membuat tidur lebih nyenyak. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui perbedaan efektifitas minum susu hangat dan teh chamomile hangat terhadap pemenuhan kebutuhan tidur lansia. Desain penelitian ini adalah Quasy Experimental. Populasi penelitian ini adalah lansia yang mengalami gangguan tidur di UPT PSLU Blitar di Tulungagung berjumlah 25 orang. Jumlah sampel 18 orang lansia yang telah dipilih melalui kriteria inklusi dan secara random dibagi menjadi 3 kelompok yaitu kelompok intervensi susu (n=6), kelompok intervensi teh chamomile hangat (n=6) dan kelompok kontrol (n=6). Variabel independen penelitian adalah minum susu hangat dan teh chamomile hangat dan variabel dependen adalah pemenuhan kebutuhan tidur lansia. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Analisa data menggunakan uji statistik Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test dan Mann Whitney U Test α ≤ 0,05. Untuk mengetahui perbedaan menggunakan Mann Whitney U Test dengan nilai α = 0,743.Hasil menunjukan pada kelompok intervensi memiliki pengaruh dengan munggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test dengan nilai p = 0,027 untuk susu hangat dan p = 0,027 untuk teh chamomile hangat. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah minum susu hangat dan teh chamomile hangat mempunyai pengaruh yang sama meningkatkan kebutuhan tidur lansia. Perlu dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut dengan menggunakan metode gabungan, sampel dan tindakan lebih banyak dalam memenuhi kebutuhan tidur untuk menjaga kemampuan fisik dan psikis lansia dalam proses penuaan.

Sleep disorders in the elderly are caused by physiological changes. Warm milk and warm chamomile tea are able to accelerate the processes of sleep and were able to make sleep more comfort. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences between drinking warm milk and warm chamomile tea towards the needs of sleep on elderly . This study was used Quasy Experimental Design. The population were 25 elderly who experience sleep disruption at UPT PSLU Blitar Tulungagung. Samples were 18 elderly people who have been choosen through the inclusion criteria, and randomly divided into 3 groups: warm milk intervention group (n = 6), warm chamomile tea intervention group (n = 6) and control group (n = 6). The independent variable were drink warm milk and warm chamomile tea while the dependent variable was the compliance of sleep needs on elderly. Data were collected by using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index questionnaires. Data was analyzed by using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann Whitney U Test ≤ 0,05. The results had showed the effect of the intervention group (p = 0.027 for warm milk) and (p = 0.027 for warm chamomile tea). The result of Mann Whitney U test was p = 0.743. It can be concluded that so, drink warm milk and warm chamomile tea are equally able to enhance the needs of sleep on elderly. Further studies are needed using combined methods, with more samples and more treatment to fulfill the sleep needs to maintain physical and psychic abilities elderly in the aging process.
