Abstract


Chronic renal failure is a condition where the kidney damage occurs progressively so that the body fails to maintain metabolism and fluid and electrolyte balance. These circumstances cause uremia and other nitrogen garbage in the blood. The therapy is used in patients with chronic renal failure is hemodialysis therapy where patients must pay attention to protein intake, sodium and potassium during the running of the therapy. Family support is one of the factors that affect dietary compliance of patients with chronic renal failure doing hemodialysis therapy. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between family support to diet adherence of patients with chronic renal failure who get hemodialysis therapy at Hemodialysis Installation RSUD Sidoarjo.This study was analyzed usingĀ  Spearman correlation test. Sampling with purposive sampling technique. Total sample are 50 respondents. Retrieving data using questionnaires and recall 2x24 hours.Based on data analysis showed P Value 0.454> 0.1 eat H0 accepted, which means there is no relationship between family support to dietary compliance of patients with chronic renal failure who get hemodialysis therapy at Hemodialysis Installation RSUD Sidoarjo. Need for cooperation between patient, family and health care workers, especially nutritionists so the patient pay more attention to diet, particularly regarding protein intake, intake of sodium and potassium intake.
