Abstract

Typhoid fever is an acute infectious disease caused by Salmonella typhi bacteria that attacks the
gastrointestinal tract. During bacterial infection increased phagocytic cells and microorganisms that
contained in the body are engulfed by phagocytic cells. Many microorganisms produce chemotactic
factors that will attract phagocytic cells to the infected system. This can lead to examination the
number of leukocytes are often found leukopenia. This study aimed to analyze the relationship
between the numbers of leukocytes in a diverse titer of Widal in patients with of typhoid fever.
The type of research is analytic observational research with design correlation by using table and
charts technique with sample 18 typhoid fever. The samples were taken by using purposive
sampling techniques. The result of descriptive analysis obtained leukopeni value of 38,9%, 33,3%
normal while the rest leucocytosis. From these results it can be assumed that there is a relationship
between a diverse number of leukocytes with titer of Widal.
