Abstract

Risperidone is one of atypical antipsychotic drugs for depressive disorder mania, psychosis and
schizophrenia. Risperidone ismetabolized in liver to active metabolite 9-hydroxyrisperidone. Long
term consumption of Risperidone can cause the change of transaminase enzymes in liver,
especially SGOT and SGPT.The purpose of this study is to determine difference levels of SGOT and
SGPTin the sample of Risperidone’s user. This research is a cross sectional study with quantitative
statistical analysis techniques. Research was conducted at the RSJ Menur Surabaya laboratory in
March until May, 2016. The sampling techniques by purposive samplingbased on researcher’s
criteria.Final results show the average levels of SGOT is 26.8 U/l and SGPT is 23.8 U/l in sample
Risperidone’s user. Average levels of SGOT is 20.9 U/l and SGPT is 15.2 U/l in sample non
Risperidone’s user.Statistical analysis with parametric test Independent T-Test show that SGOT
α=0.044 and SGPT α=0.022. Results show significant differences between the levels of SGOT and
SGPT in sample Risperidone’s user and non Risperidone’s user.
