PERBEDAAN ANTIBODI VIRUS Avian influenza SUBTIPE H5N1 DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN SERUM DAN PLASMA DARAH PADA PENDONOR DI PMI SURABAYA
Abstract
Avian influenza is a zoonotic disease caused by type A influenza viruses of the family
Orthomyxoviridae. The disease can be transmitted through inhalation, direct contact or indirect
contact. Direct transmission through blood is not widely known yet as influenza viremia because it is
very small. As long as the time, viremia symptoms may occur symptomatic and asymptomatic. This
study aims to analyze the differences between antibody subtype H5N1 Avian influenza virus using
serum and plasma of blood donors at PMI Surabaya.
This type of research is a descriptive study with a qualitative analysis method. The sample which
used in this study were 50 blood donors at PMI Surabaya. Serum and blood plasma were taken from
each donor and will be analyzedbyHaemaglutination method (HA) and Haemaglutination Inhibition
(HI). This study used the technique of quota sampling, is sampling which obtainedwithout certain
criteria until the desired number of quotas are completed. This research was conducted in the
Laboratory of the Ministry ofPoltekkes Kemenkes Surabayaon February 2014 until June 2014.
Based on the results of the Haemaglutination Inhibition (HI) using serum and plasma samples,it was
not revealed any antibodies avian influenza virus subtype H5N1, so it can be concluded that there
was no difference in antibody subtype H5N1 Avian influenza virus using serum or plasma donors at
PMI Surabaya.
