Abstract

Fe content in the blood due to exposure or suspected mill dust can cause increased levels of
hemoglobin in the blood because Fe is a component of hemoglobin it self. Increased hemoglobin
levels also affect the value of hematocrit, because hemoglobin levels proportional to the
hematocrit. The purpose of this study was to know the influence of the length of time of exposure
to the hematocrit value of iron metals in the body of each worker factory parts production. The
material of research were vena blood and EDTA anticoagulation. This study showed that there was
no effect of the length of time of exposure to the hematocrit value of iron metals on factory
workers.
